Referencing, why should I care?
APA referencing is an author/date style supported by the American Psychological Association and is used internationally across a number of academic disciplines.
Many of us are occasionally stumped by why we need to reference our work and how reference lists and APA referencing are used; thankfully the WWW offers some clarification with a raft of online guides and tutorials:
I'm doing this because..?
Why referencing is important
Building a reference list
EGTAFE APA Referencing Guide
A guide to APA referencing style
APA documentation
APA referencing summary
Nuts and bolts
Layout and formatting
Need to know more? The library holds copies of the 6th Edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for the truly hardcore...

Show us your books
The library catalogue is a wonderful thing. It not only shows the location and availability of items held in each campus library, but also other resources held by different teaching teams.
Just a reminder to all teams, if you buy resources for use with your students, or as staff resources, let us see it, catalogue it for your location and return it to you. That way the catalogue continues to reflect the up to date whereabouts of all TAFE resources.

To add a library to a house is to give that house a soul.
For those staff members who weren’t able to visit us for morning tea recently, the Bairnsdale library has moved into the Riverine Street house, unpacked and is open for business as usual from 8.30am to 5pm.
As the collection is either held in boxes in the shed or closely spaced on limited shelving, access is for the time being restricted to library staff and browsing by students or staff not possible.
This makes the library catalogue a must check location. Remember that you can do this from your desk using the online catalogue, or email, phone or visit us and we will help you here.
